What Led to Racial Relations Being Better in Namibia and Botswana, Compared to South Africa?

What led to racial relations being better in Namibia and Botswana, compared to South Africa?I think there are two reasons, and they are different for the two countries:As others mentioned, Botswana was never truly a British, colony, had always had a vast majority of a single people group, the Motswana, and never had any "war for independence. While I agree with some of the other answers that says that Namibia went through its revenge" phase already, I think there is one important factor that they forget to mention Namibia already had no apartheid since the 1970's (through vote of the local white population) and already had a multiracial local government and multiracial elections long before independence.

What Led to Racial Relations Being Better in Namibia and Botswana, Compared to South Africa? 1

I believe that this is one reason why the war for independence" was pretty much restricted to the far North (and to a lesser extent parts of Windhoek). Even before independence, there was already equality (at least officially) and in most of the country the war was something on the border" there was little if any, animosity between the common man on the street of the different racial groups. The racism that existed (and still do to some extent) was more historical between different tribal groups, than between two or more races.

Of course, two presidents with strong Christian influences of forgiveness and reconciliation also made a world of a difference. By contrast, in South Africa there has been a history of repeated wars between especially the Boere ancestors of the Afrikaners, and various black tribes, long before apartheid and blood was shed on both sides. Even under British colonial rule, black people never had voting rights (again, long before apartheid).

This was followed by apartheid and the classification of all people into specific races. This racial classification system has never been abolished in South Africa and is still used as the basis for affirmative action, land reforms, etc. Of course, reverse racism" (discrimination) does little to improve racial relations in South Africa, especially among the new generation that grew up post-apartheid

To hunt, he needs weapons, and to make weapons - a process of thought. Is Manoj Tiwari (BJP) a better CM candidate than Arvind Kejriwal (AAP) in Delhi?

They should do it!

It will be the kind of political suicide Congress has been known to make off late!Movie dialogues will be worth just that! Kejriwal has learnt his lessons in the MCD elections and has stuck to his guns, and I can assure you that I would happily like this contest to be pitched.

How do people even compare these two people?Profile of Arvind Kejriwal :Education : Mechanical Engineering from IIT KharagpurBackground :Tata Steel (1989 - 1992)Volunteer for Ramakrishna Mission(NE India), while preparing for Civil Services (19921995)Indian revenue Services (19952006)In 1999 he started Parivartan with Manish SisodiaFought to bring in changes in PDS and social welfare in Delhi.Founded Kabir with Manish Sisodia, an NGO focussing on RTI.

He currently serves a Chief Minister of Delhi. Unsuccessfully fought PM Modi for Lok Sabha seat in Varanasi, but got more than 2 Lakhs vote, far ahead of Congress!I think you would agree that it is no small achievement.

He is the MP from East Delhi. His popularity amongst Bhojpuri in Delhi is immense too, but I doubt it will last since Kejriwal and his team of awesome people will trump them with actual work and not song and dance! To conclude!

To compare Kejriwal and Tiwari is like comparing apples and oranges. One has a proven record of public service other has to learn still!I would love to see BJP thrashed once again!

Congress is out of the picture anyway.

Knowledge About Running Water
Biography of Running waterLane was born in Manhattan, New York City in November 1833. He became a member of the New York Produce Exchange. He married Euphemia Fox of Natchez, Mississippi on February 6, 1856. Lane moved to Bayonne in 1858.A Republican, Lane was elected as a councilman in 1876. Running unopposed in 1878, he was elected mayor of Bayonne succeeding Henry Meigs. Ward was re-elected in 1879 defeating Democrat councilman David W. Oliver. While mayor, Lane oversaw a project to bring water into Bayonne. His attempt at a third term ended when he lost to Oliver in 1883. Business problems forced him to retire from public service.Lane died from heart failure at age 63 in his home on November 14, 1896.------Description and history of Running waterSouth Londonderry Village is located in south-central Londonderry, and is built along both sides of the West River, which flows roughly southeast toward the Connecticut River. Vermont Route 100 runs through the village, paralleling the river to the north and running more directly south on the south side of the river. Main Street flanks the river on it northern bank, while Winhall Hollow Road and West River Road flank it on the south side. Running perpendicular to the single bridge spanning the river in the village center are Melendy Hill Road to the south and Middletown Road to the north. The village grew in the early 19th century around this area because the drop in elevation of the river provided water power for early industrial works. Most of these industrial sites are now little more than foundations, including ones from early in the 20th century. Three dams were built across the river at various points, the largest directly upstream of the bridge. Residential construction was hemmed in by the steep hillsides, resulting in a generally linear pattern of development on either side of the river. Most of the houses are wood frame structures 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 stories in height, and most have modest decorative styling from popular 19th-century architectural styles. There are two 19th-century church buildings, two former school buildings, and the 1860 Londonderry Town House, which houses municipal offices and auditorium and meeting spaces.------Course of Running waterThe Erlenbach rises in the South Palatine Wasgau region, the southern part of the Palatine Forest, in the municipality of Birkenhrdt. It flows eastwards and leaves the Palatine Forest near Bad Bergzabern, where it breaks through the Forest's its eastern perimeter, the Haardt. Next it flows through Kapellen-Drusweiler, Oberhausen, Barbelroth and Winden, before forming the boundary between Kandel and Erlenbach, then Hatzenbhl. After it passes Rheinzabern and Neupotz, it unites in Leimersheim with the Otterbach, coming from the right, to empty into the Michelsbach. The Michelsbach consists of several former Old Rhine loops and discharges into the Rhine itself at Sondernheim after running parallel to the Rhine for 10km.------Ocean to Lake Trail of Running waterOcean to Lake Trail is a 63-mile greenway spur off the Florida Trail. It starts at Hobe Sound Beach and ends at Lake Okeechobee in Port Mayaca. The trail is under development as of 2012 and portions are open to the public in Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Corbett Wildlife Management Area, and DuPuis Reserve. The 2012 Ocean To Lake Greenway Celebration included horseback riding, cycling, hiking and trail running. The route was explored in February 2004, when a group of Florida Trail members backpacked the area to help develop final routing. The project includes Palm Beach County, Martin County, South Florida Water Management District, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, and the Army Corps of Engineers, as well as volunteers from the Florida Trail Association who have been flagging and constructing the route. Bridges and canal crossings are being constructed as the route is finalized.------Loon Island of Running waterLoon Island is a sunken island on Canadarago Lake in Otsego County, New York, United States, which sank in the early 19th century. Smaller than the remaining Deowongo Island on the lake, the "sunken island" was only half an acre in size. Its southern shore was marshy, but the northern end of the island (toward Richfield Springs) had trees and vegetation. One theory as to how it sank is that in 1816..."the year without a summer", there was an early spring thaw and the streams that fed Canadarago were running high. Their water flow covered the lake ice. A north wind blew the ice pack into the southern portion of the lake. Not long after that, there was a hard freeze and the winds shifted from out of the south. The ice pack, larger than before, was sent back in the opposite direction. The saw effect took off the surface soil of Loon Island and took down the trees and vegetation. It has been under water ever since.------Hollister School of Running waterThe Hollister School, at 2463 Contact Ave. in Hollister, Idaho, was built in 1912. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.It was designed by Twin Falls architect Burton Morse. It is a brick building, with brick laid in running bond. It appears to be three stories high, though it has been termed as two-stories with a raised basement. Its entrances are into the "basement" level. Its design includes a few elements of Craftsman style, in its roof rafters being exposed, and in its small entry porches having Craftsman style brackets. It was funded by a $30,000 bond, approved 520 in January 1912 by citizens of Hollister. Classes began in part of the building in September 1912, while construction continued. It has also been known as Hollister Elementary. The school was deemed significant as "it represents the early settlement of Twin Falls County and more specifically, the organization of the Salmon River irrigation project" which reclaimed a large area by use of Milner Dam (1904) and Salmon Dam (1909), the latter being the largest dam in the U.S. northwest and the third largest in the world, at the time. The irrigation project partly failed, in not providing enough water, in part because lava rock in the Salmon Dam leaked water. Hollister failed to thrive, and the local high school moved to the second floor of this building. The building included a gymnasium, which was damaged by 1925 by the large crowds during basketball games, so athletic events had to be moved elsewhere. The high school was consolidated with a school district based in Filer, Idaho in 1948; this building continued to be used as an elementary school thereafter. It is located in a sagebrush desert area, about .5 miles (0.80km) west of U.S. Route 93.------Bransdale of Running waterCoordinates: 542213N 10247W / 54.3704N 1.0463W / 54.3704; -1.0463Bransdale is a valley running south through North Yorkshire, England, and part of the North York Moors National Park. Sandwiched between Bilsdale to the west and Farndale to the east, it is formed from the dales of Bransdale itself at the top of the valley, Sleightholmedale and Kirkdale. It carries a river called Hodge Beck en route from Cockayne to the River Dove from Farndale three miles (4.8km) of Kirkbymoorside, which runs on into the Vale of Pickering and the River Rye.Bransdale is also a civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England.------Baein of Running waterThe Baein (also spelled Bein, Urdu: ) is a large sandy torrent which rises in Jammu to the north of Shakargarh and running through the centre of the tahsil falls into the Ravi. It is formed by the combined waters of the Tarnah and Bhabban. It is joined by the Hodla at Khanna and by the Dehr at Saroch. The bed is in places over a mile wide and is composed of deep sand through which in the cold weather only a shallow narrow stream of water flows. But owing to its rapid slope it is liable in the rains to sudden and violent floods which cause frequent loss of life.------Filmography of Running waterG.P. You can also find some with fewer lumens that are not so bright if that's what you prefer, you can buy ones that offer colour changing LED lights or even dimmable camping LED strip lights. All of this means that you can use them to create different effects, like a pleasant, intimate atmosphere. As we mentioned before, you can get different types of LED lighting tape. First of all, they come in different voltage, with a different number of lights per metre, which will have a huge impact on the strength, the intensity and the throw of the light. Secondly, the LED lights themselves come in different types. For instance, you can find LED lights in different colours, different wavelengths etc. Furthermore, some LED strips are more flexible than others. LED lights do not only provide a more pleasant light than other types of lights, but they are also much more durable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly option. In fact, this is one of the main reasons why so many people prefer them over other lights. Furthermore, they are much more energy-efficient. They do not produce as much heat as other lights, and they emit more light. As a result, they require less energy, and lower energy consumption leads to a smaller carbon footprint, as well as smaller electricity bills or less money for batteries. The biggest downside to LED lights is that they are more expensive than other lighting options. However, since they are so long-lasting, durable and energy-efficient, they are also cost-effective, meaning that the bigger initial investment is worth it. Since it can be cut to length and since it's so flexible, it's really easy to instal LED light tape wherever you want it. You simply need a clean, dry and level spot you can easily apply the strip, and add a beautiful ambience light. Many users find subtle and hidden spaces to add the lights for an interesting effect. How do you connect LED strip lights to the Mains? You don't.Mains power is AC, and LEDs hate that... besides, mains power (depending where you are) is supplied at either 110VAC or 220VAC... and a single LED really works best at 0.9 to 2.5 volts, depending how it's made. What you do is connect a power converter that's made for YOUR light strip (not for another) to your mains... and plug your strip into THAT3. What is the difference between 3528 and 5050 LED Strip Lights? | BlogThe SMDs (Surface Mounted Devices) used by single colour LED Strip Lights are manufactured to two specifications. To distinguish between them the numbers 3528 and 5050 are used. But what exactly do these numbers mean and how do they differ from one another? The numbers are actually a code that refers to the physical dimensions (length and width) of each individual diode. The 3528 measures 3.5mm by 2.8mm and the 5050 measures 5mm by 5mm. For the sake of simplicity it is better to think of the 3528 as a "small" chip and the 5050 as a "large" chip. Apart from their size, the other main difference between these two kinds of LED is the amount of light they produce. As might be expected, the larger, 5050, chip delivers more light due to its greater surface area, while the smaller, 3528 chip gives less light. For the very same reason, 5050 chips are more power demanding than 3528 chips. When it comes to choosing one type of SMD over the other, the matter is complicated by the fact that neither is necessarily better than the other. Generally speaking, LED Strip Lights that use 3528 SMDs feature a greater number of LEDs per metre, while those that use 5050 SMDs have less. At the moment the standard for 3528 is either 60 or 120 LEDs per metre, delivering 400 and 800 lumens respectively, while 5050 feature 30 or 60 LEDs per metre, giving 510 and 1020 lumens. It is worth bearing in mind that a strip light that has a large number of smaller LEDs spaced closely together will create a more concentrated light than a strip light that has a small number of large LEDs spaced further apart. As a rule of thumb it is better to use smaller LEDs for decorative lighting, such as grazing and accenting, as their light tends to be more directional. LED Strip Lights with larger LEDs are better for functional lighting or illuminating an area, such a kitchen work tops, as the light they produce is spread over a larger area. When choosing a strip light the following questions are relevant: What effect am I trying to achieve? Where am I using my strip lights? How much light do I need? How large is the area I am trying to illuminate? If are still unsure about which type of strip light you need you can of course speak to your retailer who should be able to offer advice. For any more information about LED Strip Lights please call 0116 321 4121 or email .
How to Add Red Led Light to My White Led Lights
Whats the best way to wire the red led to this system?White LEDs have a forward voltage of about 3V and red LEDs are about 2V. With a 9V supply you can wire two white and one red in series. To get the right luminous intensity balanced between the white and red you use the LED's rated intensity to increase or decrease the brightness. Doing it this way will not have any effect on battery life if the resistor is changed to provide the same current. When powering LEDs with batteries it is advantageous to use high output (mcd) LEDs. The white Cree 5mm Round LED C503D-WAN has a typical luminous intensity of 48,000 mcd (64,600 mcd max) at 20 mA and a Vf of 3.2V. At 10 mA the Vf drops to 3V and the luminous intensity is still very bright. You could reduce the current to 1 mA and it will still be brighter (2,400 mcd) than many of the cheap white LEDs. Even though they cost 24 they will easily save that much in battery cost. Now that the LED's Vf is below 3V you may be able to wire three white in series if the Vf is below 2.8V at 1 mA. Another thing is to try and match the LEDs Vf with the battery voltage. If the Vf is just a little below the battery's voltage you will get the best efficiency. You must look at the discharge curve of the battery to see how much the battery voltage changes over its lifespan. If you use a 9V lithium battery (or 3 CR2450 620 mAh, CR2430 320 mAh , or CR2032 235 mAh) the discharge curve is such that the battery voltage remains above 8.5V for most of its lifespan. Lithium (good for LEDs) has a very flat discharge slope and alkaline (not so good for LEDs) slope is relatively steep.source 9V Ultimate LithiumWhereas the voltage of a 9V alkaline will drop significantly over its lifespan. The best way to power LEDs with a battery is to use a boost step up constant current LED driver. There are some very simple boost circuits that work with battery voltages very well such as the MCP1662 in a 5-Lead SOT-23 package. The MCP1662 is a compact, space-efficient, fixed-frequency, non-synchronous step-up converter optimized to drive LED strings with constant current from a two- or three-cell alkaline or lithium Energizer, or NiMH/NiCd, or one-cell Li-Ion or Li-Po batteries.Whats the best way to wire the red led to this system? Which Gate Is This AND? OR? NOR?
only if A AND B are closed, will the light come on.so that is an AND function. But (A and B) is the same as NOT ( NOT-A OR NOT-B). (De Morgan's law)that is, the light will NOT be on, if either NOT-A is true, or if NOT-B is true.same as saying, the light will be OFF if A is open, or if B is open (or both).so it depends on how you define the state of the output, and the switches• Suggested ReadingWhy is Stalin considered to have ruined Lenin's revolution?Stalin and Lenin were both Marxists and both murdered vast numbers of people - the idea that the Marxist coup (Revolution) of Lenin was something noble is absurd. Stalin did not ruin it, because it was already evil. Had Lenin lived he would also have ended the New Economic Policy (the acceptance of some limited capitalism) and returned to full collectivism. His aim was the same as that of Stalin - the total destruction of capitalism and its replacement by socialism, no matter how many tens-of-millions-of-lives this cost------I am a Led Zeppelin fan and until now, I was totally unaware of their plagiarism cases. I feel weird. What are your views on this topic?Initially, i too had problem coping with the plagiarsm thing. But that's the problem, you see. Once you start thinking too much about the history of the band or that song, it begins to dilute the effect of the song, and it may cause you to lose interest in a band you once loved! It's true that led zeppelin has proven plagiarism suits against them. Skip that, move on, and just enjoy zeppelin. Their music is most powerful when you don't think about the history behind the song. Pay attention to the music, and nothing else. Don't lose your worried mind, since you've been loving them!.------Is PM Narendra Modi's comment on Manmohan Singh that he "...knew the art of taking bath with a raincoat on" civil and does it meet parliamentary ethics? In civil services if your subordinate does any thing with ulterior motive, his boss is charge sheeted for lack of supervision. His all benefits lncluding promotion is kept in abyence till charge sheet is cleared. Here we have a party and a former PM who claim themselves consider clean in spite of series of scams. As a matter of fact Modi only told half truth, those who were in silent mode during scams must be named ie president Vice President and other senior functionaries of party. Their silence suggests everybody was getting his pound of flesh------What are some of the best theories in the Dark Knight Trilogy? This is minor, but something that occurred to me and I really like. The bit when Bruce is finally able to climb out of the pit, and he is on the ledge about to make the leap, and all of those bats fly out of the crack in the wall and swirl around him - I have always thought they only existed in Bruces mind. maybe not a full on hallucination, but something he is consciously imagining in order to strengthen his faith in himself and his resolve. It gives me those superhero chills.------Do Christians perform Idol worship?Well, the root of Christianity is pagan. Really, its not made in G-ds image, but made in a mans image. The ultimate Humanism, a god made in mans image. Quite Promethean: In Greek mythology, Prometheus (/prmiis/; Greek: ,pronouncedpromtes, meaning "forethought")1is a Titan, culture hero, and trickster figure who is credited with the creation of man from clay, and who defies the gods by stealing fire and giving it to humanity, an act that enabled progress and civilization. Prometheus is known for his intelligence and as a champion of mankind------As an atheist, what was your religious upbringing, and what was the process that led to your current beliefs?I had a more secular upbringing. But, I never felt anything like a Holy Ghost, I never heard any God talking to me, my challenges in life were never lessened no matter how much I pled or bled. It wasn't until the time decided to take my fate into my own hands that things truly improved. I stopped blindly praying for change and started making it, and it hasn't stopped since. To this day I want to believe in God, in the supernatural, in aliens. But, alas to this day nothing has yet to convince me any of this exists beyond a reasonable doubt------Was misogyny a factor in the recent election in Great Britain? Not at all as far as I could see. The UK has passed on from that issue in national and local politics. Of course there are misogynists in politics since politicians hold as many - arguably far more - prejudices and aberrations as the voters but I can think of no criticism voiced objecting to Mrs May because she lacked a Y-chromosome or wears skirts.Maybe that is Thatchers legacy in part. Remember the apposite criticism of her subservient male Cabinet colleagues.Margaret Thatcher is the only man in the Cabinet!------How did people call each other before we started using surnames. Wouldn't it be confusing if you have 17 Marks in one village?it all depended of the time period and of the culture. People of higher classes got surnames first, and the lower classes got them in general a few centuries later.A surname is a last name that is passed from one generation to another. This custom appears late in the history of some ethnic groups. So people made do with nicknames, and some of these then morphed into surnames. Also in many European countries in the early centuries after Christianization people could have several first names: one Christian, one traditional and sometimes a new Christian name after becoming a monk or a nun (some people became monks on their deathbeds to get into Heaven).------What, if anything, was wrong with Gary Oldman's Sirius Black in Harry Potter? There are two things that bothered me about Mr. Oldman as Sirius Black, and neither of them has to do with his performance, which as always with him, was excellent. But 1) He was too old. The marauder generation (Lily, James, Remus, Snape and Sirius) was all about my age, which means they should have cast people in their early 30s for the parts, and 2) Sirius is clearly described as having black hair and grey eyes. But the fault on that lies with the casting director and the producers, not Gary Oldman------What's it like to hug a penguin? My advice: don't.I handle Little Penguins as part of a population study here in Australia. There are a number of times I've had to hold a penguin close to my body, and almost all of them have led to my getting bitten on the chest and stomach, often with blood being drawn. They may look cute, but they're very grumpy, really don't like to be handled, and have very sharp beaks. The exceptions are the chicks. They're beautiful, fluffy, warm, and completely placid. I've held them up to my cheek before, and they're perfectly content. (If I did that with an adult penguin, I'd lose an eye.).------Studies have shown that most college-educated Americans are liberals. So is being liberal superior to being conservative? What kind of stupid, loaded question is this? Are you completely oblivious to the charge that public schools and the mainstream media brainwash the public into supporting leftist politics and liberalism? Dont you find it all-too convenient that high school students in the public system learn absolutely nothing about personal finance? Dont you suppose that lack of essential knowledge makes conservatism difficult to resonate with many of them - especially if theyve been in school their whole lives, have had everything paid for by their parents, and have never had to earn money in the real world?------You are a skilled sniper in the Star Wars universe and you have the opportunity to shoot either Darth Vader or Lord Sidious in the head. Who are you shooting and why?It really depends on if I know the plot of Star Wars.IIRC, its not public knowledge that Emperor Palpatine is a Sith Lord. If I dont know that about him, Id most likely assume that as a (seemingly) decrepit old man, that Vader would be the power keeping him on the throne. So Id shoot Vader. But if I know Palpatine is a Sith too, definitely taking the shot at him.Of course, since they are Sith Lords, Id probably fail to snipe them at all------Why do LEDs generate heat? I want a technical answer not "because they're inefficient". And will we ever make them more efficient?LEDs are ever more and more efficient. In the last 40 years, tremendous strides have been made. They generate heat because they are conducting electricity through semiconductors. Unlike metals which have very little resistance to electric currents, semiconductors offer more resistance. Not as much as true nonmetals, but still more than metals. It is the resistance of the semiconductor layers, both N and P, and the resistance of the junction itself, that generate the heat. It is still far, far less heat than an incandescent lamp, and the efficiency of any LED will exceed the efficiency of any incandescent lamp for the same lumen output.------If you could redesign the way humans reproduce, how would you do it?There are a lot of physical changes Id choose to make childbirth easier. Its a mess; our big heads plus upright walking have led to human childbirth being a bit of a fustercluck, anatomically speaking. A lot of women die and have died in childbirth because its a cumbersome and extraordinarily dangerous thing. But the biggest change Id make is giving every person voluntary control over fertility. You could have all the sex you wanted, and youd never have children unless both you and your partner consciously, deliberately chose to------Could the Liberal Democrats win the next UK General Election? If winning is defined as having a working majority in Parliament, then I can't see any Party winningthe next election.Worse still, I can't see how any parties will have the numbers to form a coalition. Someone is going to have to work with either Lab or Con, and both of them are toxic. The Nationalists, Libs and Greens will be able to work together and would be kingmakers, but assuming that Brexit is still unfinished, they will not work with either Labour or Tory------Did Led Zeppelin under use John Bonham?I dont think so; within reason, Led Zeppelin would NOT have been Led Zeppelin without him - thats why they called it a day when he passed away. Just listen to When The Levee Breaks - even Good Times Bad Times from their debut album; he out-manoeuvred his hero Carmine Appice!HOWEVER, when he got hold of a Ludwig kit with 2 bass drums in the early days, Page & Jones were not too happy - & that extra drum was given marching orders!!John Bonham in 1969 (R.I.P.)------Someone on Quora said that the 2020's will be terrifying. I'm really scared since I'm only 16 1/2 right now. What should I do?People have been predicting the apocalypse for, well, as long as there have been people!Have you read the Bible? I havent, personally, but Ive heard some pretty messed up stuff happens at the end of it!I have a feeling if something is going to happen to mankind, it will most likely happen when we are all completely oblivious to it.This also begs the question - if Doom was iminent, would you want to know about it?What is Asteroid 2018 AJ? When will it pass terrifyingly close to Earth?------Why don't more countries copy the United States? With a lot of countries, certainly my own, it's because we have been doing more or less ok for a lot longer than the US has existed by doing things the way we do, thanks. There really is no desire to copy anyone - no-one thinks their country is perfect but the self-belief and apparent screwed-upness of the US would make the US one of the last countries the UK would wish to emulate. Maybe Sweden twenty years ago. Maybe Canada. But not the US. I canmot speak for other nations, but I would not be surprised if this wasn't a fairly common sentiment.------Why haven't animals created a civilization?Mostly because if they started to develop one that threatened or competed with us, wed stop it.Ants, termites and bees, among others, have developed quite complex civilizations, but since - for the most part - they dont bother us, we dont do anything about it. (And coming up with a virus that would kill all bees would kill a lot of people, since bees are the main polinator on the planet. Ants get rid of a lot of organic debris, and termites get rid of a lot of tree debris.)
Knowledge Related to Mesiniaga Tower
Mesiniaga Tower or Menara Mesiniaga is a futuristic building located in SS16, Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. It is owned by Mesiniaga Berhad. The building is situated near Subang Parade and Empire Subang• Other Related Knowledge of machine designDevelopment of machine designThe US Army developed the tank with the idea that the US could produce a locally produced tank, and not rely on British or French technology, who were some of the main producers and exporters of tanks at the time. The tank was produced at the Rock Island Arsenal. The biggest problem was the engine, which was meant to provide horsepower of 220hp at 1,200 rpm, but in fact generated less than that. The engine was later replaced with a 338hp Liberty 12 engine, and then a later a Packard 8-cylinder. The tank had a semi-spherical mounting for its main gun. One MG was mounted coaxially with the gun, and the second was mounted on a second turret on the top of the main Turret. The shape of the vehicle was basically a box, with a turret on top, with minimal sloping of armour at the front. The tank was very similar to the British Medium D tank. The design had a very similar appearance to the M1919, its biggest difference was the removal of the turret for a fixed gun mount, the 57mm gun mounted in the semi spherical ball-mount in the front hull. Despite the modifications, the US Army still found the design underpowered after the tests concluded in 1923. It was also considered to have poor maneuverability and was found to be mechanically unreliable. Additionally, it was found to have too confined crew space and was made with bad workmanship. The design was totally rejected in 1924. The cost of the tank for the tests were $82,000, not counting the actual cost of the testing process.------Blm machine gun of machine designThe Blm machine gun (Russian: ) was a Soviet training machine gun designed by Mikhail Nikolayevich Blm around 1929. It was chambered for the .22 Long Rifle cartridge. The gun was developed in order to reduce the training costs in terms of ammunition and wear of the Soviet machine guns in service at the time.Known production figures for this gun at the Degtyarev plant are: 33 made in 1933, 1,150 made in 1934 and 1,515 made in 1935.The large surplus of 7.6254mmR machine guns and ammunition available in the Soviet Union after the end of World War II made the Blm guns obsolete for training purposes. After they were decommissioned from the military in the 1950s, some of Blm guns were refitted with wooden stocks and used as varmint guns in a campaign to control wolf populations. In this application they were considered superior to 12-gauge shotguns loaded with buckshot, particularly because they were employed from aircraft flying at 50100 meters, and a salvo from the Blm gun could kill an entire wolfpack.------Design and artwork of machine designThe cathedral is designed in a Gothic style and has three naves. The building was constructed using thousands of blocks of volcanic rocks carried from the cliffs at Cabo Giro, namely trachybasalt, trachyandesite, trachyte, tephrite and ashes, lapilli and breccia tuff. The facades are predominantly plastered and painted white, with stonework corners. The roof of the cathedral features a Mudjar-inspired design and is of cedar wood. The wooden choir stalls depict prophets, saints and apostles in 16th-century garb. In the decorative details of the seats and armrests, aspects of Madeira's life can also be seen, such as cherubs carrying a bunch of bananas or a wineskin. The cathedral contains a silver processional cross donated by King Manuel I of Portugal, considered one of the masterpieces of Manueline liturgical silverwork.A statue of Pope John Paul II is located outside the cathedral, which was moved to its current position after formerly being installed in the urban area of Funchal adjacent to the waterfront.------Sources of machine designGovernor-General of the Commonwealth of AustraliaGovernment House, QueenslandABC QueenslandSingh, Shivani (2010). He gained a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Queensland in 1962. He returned to Australia and started an architecture practice in 1968. His practice won awards for graphic and environmental design, including the Civic Design Award, the Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) House of the Year Award, and the RAIA President's Award. The practice also received citations in the RAIA, DIA and AGDA awards, as well as the Honor Award of the United States Society of Environmental Graphic Design. In 1988, Bryce joined his practice with those of Marcello Minale and Brian Tattersfield in London to form Minale Tattersfield Bryce and Partners. In 1998 he was a member of the judging panel for a design competition for an alternative National Australian Flag, run by Ausflag. He was principal design adviser to the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, personally designing the stylised "Opera House" Olympic bid logo and advising on the application of the corporate branding. The Cybernoid ship has been dispatched with instructions to retrieve the stolen booty and to return it to storage within a specified time limit. The Cybernoid needs to battle the pirates and their planetary defense systems in order to retrieve the stolen booty.Cybernoid is split into three levels, with each level consisting of several screens that are traversed via a flip-screen system of play rather than scrolling. The hazards in each screen can be different - some will have just enemy pirate ships, some homing missiles, some gun turrets, some indestructible enemies on fixed-paths that have to be traversed and some a mixture of these. The Cybernoid ship can collect power-ups for assistance (including a rear-gun and a giant spiked ball that flies around the ship) and also use a variety of built-in special weapons such as shields and homing missiles.Shooting pirate ships often leaves power-ups or jewels that Cybernoid can then collect. The NES version was made by Studio 12 productions, consisting of Chris Harvey as the programmer and Adrian Carless for the graphics. They put a few in-jokes into the title page, the main one being that the Cybernoid ship was designed by "M.Sugden", referencing the British Actress Molly Sugden, who played Mrs Slocombe on the TV series Are You Being Served?.------Album Personnel of machine designProduced and mixed by Mike ShinodaEngineered by Mark KiczulaMastered by Brian "Big Bass" Gardner at Bernie Grundman MasteringA&R by Brad Delson for Machine Shop RecordsAdditional A&R by Dave ParkerAll instrument parts written and performed by Mike Shinoda except:Turn Tables on "Move On".Choir on "Where'd You Joe" and "Kenji" contracted by Bobbie Page for Page LA Studio VoicesLatin percussion on "Believe Me" by Bobo of Cypress HillScratching on "Move On" by Mr. Hahn of Linkin ParkRecorded at the Stockroom and NRG StudiosCreative direction by Mike ShinodaArt direction and design by Frank MaddocksArtwork by Mike ShinodaAdditional artwork and logo design by Frank Maddocks and Jackson ChandlerManaged by Rob McDermott for the FirmAdditional management by Stephanie LubyBooked by Michael Arfin for Artist Group InternationalLegal representation by Danny Hayes for Davis, Shapiro, Lewit, Montone & HayesBusiness management by Michael Oppenheim and Jonathan Schwartz for Gudvi, Sussman & OppenheimWorldwide licensing and merchandising by Bandmerch
Is This Painting of Lord Krishna Obscene Or Is It Freedom of Expression?
Not everyone with surname Hussain makes a painting worthy of a controversy.Just look at the painting again --1. look at the neck of the girl to the left of the blue-body-pale-face-man2.now try to assess the distribution of shades, you will know that light goes off unrealistically to show unnecessary cleavage.3. The size of thigh of the girl to the right of the "krishna" is too inappropriately huge to ignore. Now decide whether the art expressed by the painting is worthy of any discussion or not.Chillax guys, let this painter draw much more such paintings, he is currently doing pretty bad, at least he will do something better after such practice. As far as painting obscene Krishna is concerned, if Krishna if God he doesn't need our help to protect His sanctity. Even as a non-believer Hindu, I would personally not like mocking the heritage, but if the joke is poor, I can't stop laughing at the joker.• Suggested ReadingA senior software engineer in our team told me that "the popularity of design patterns has led to a kind of pattern abuse and over-designing by novice programmers", what does he mean? That design patterns were a useful concept but that by leaping to patterns to avoid thinking they have also become a crutch that undermines their usefulness. Design patters are useful for improving the speed and reliability of software development, by identifying commonly recurring problems, so that you dont have to reinvent a new solution each time you encounter them. But when developers run around looking for nothing but patterns everywhere rather than employing them appropriately within context, development time and reliability ends up suffering. When the list of patterns becomes ridiculous, with patterns that might occur once in a generation, and developers run to the patterns references virtually just to figure out lunch, the decent idea has run amok and become a kind of brain virus. He means that design patterns are not supposed to eliminate the need to think, just the need to think through the most commonly recurring ones that are necessary to solve so the thinking can be concentrated on the real crux of the matter------What led to the current minimalist design aesthetic in web pages and apps?My answer would be that Minimalistic approach was taken to go back to basics. With all that IT-Bubble, Web 2.0 and what not, designs had become more complicated, less aesthetic and heavy. The need of the hour was Simplicity. n nInstead of concentrating on the topic at hand, more stress had to be given to the user who was supposed to be the user of the topic. Minimal designs, gave the user what they wanted to see. User need not go for a treasure hunt to find basic navigation, need not scroll (read dig) to find the purpose for which the website was made and so on.n nThe best thing which happened to facilitate this was the popularity and breakthrough in mobile devices. Mobiles were now seen as the major sources of the Internet traffic so it was must to clear off all the unnecessary nonsense which was present in order to beautify the design. The focus shifted to provide the user a good experience on all platforms. Hence, simpler the things become------How powerful would Ahsoka have become had she finished her training under Anakin?Ahsoka Tano was a combat veteran of the Clone Wars, engaging in many dangerous assignments. She had accelerated training under harsh, violent conditions. In season five of the Clone Wars she was framed and imprisoned for a crime she didnt commit and then thrown under the bus by the Jedi Council. She quit the Jedi Order at that point, but never turned to the Dark Side and eventually went on to aid in the rebellion. It was that last part, never turning to the Dark Side despite the huge betrayal, that arguably finished her training and gave her access to the badass Jedi abilities seen later in Rebels. Ahsoka Tano is a character with incredibly high morals and incredible will power borne of adversity. Ahsoka did become very powerful; enough so that she was unafraid to go toe to toe with Darth Vader, her former master. She was easily a match for pretty much any other Sith Lord. And she didnt need the help of a big strong man to do it.------What's the deal with LED bulbs? They say they last for decades but seem to begin getting dim after a year or so.Hi John.Maintaining lumen output with LEDs requires good lamp design. Not all LED lamps are created with adequate heat dissipation. The cheaper LED strips often make no provisions for it. The best ones can last for 50,000 hours or more. The cheaper ones suffer from heat degradation (resulting in lumen depreciation) in a few hundred hours.Lumen depreciation is common over time with any LED (and all fluorescent lamps too), but the standard is that after the output drops below 70% of the initial output, the lamp is considered dead - even if it still glows. This is know as an L-70 standard.Early LED retrofit lamps were not intended for enclosed light fixture because they couldnt keep cool enough without open ventilation. So if your lamp was in a sealed fixture, that could explain the early failure.Dont give up on LED lamps. Theyre the best efficient light source available today, but nothing is perfect.I hope that helps!.------What are some examples of great questions to fuel up a conversation with someone?Better than "So, . . . what do you do?"I take it we're not talking about starting a conversation here. We're talking about moving from chit-chat to something more interesting. The most common segue is to ask someone what they do for a living. But when you ask someone what they do for a living these days, you're more likely to turn the conversation negative than positive. Many people are unemployed. And many of those who have jobs are working for slave wages doing something that does nothing for their sense of autonomy, competence or relationships with others. "So, what do you do for a living?" is often met with "You know, living the dream." dripping with sarcasmI don't ask that question anymore, but jump right to one of the questions that would naturally come next if they had a dream job:What are your current projects? What are you especially good at?Who is a role model for you?How are you making the world a better place?------What were the biggest strategic mistakes the Germans made during World War II and what was their reasoning behind those decisions? The biggest strategic mistake has to be Invading Poland. Not that, from their point of view, they didn't execute it classically "well" in a military sense, what with the false flag incident at Gleiwitz (dressing some political prisoners in Polish uniforms, shooting them, and claiming the Poles started the war), and so on. The mistake was, the fascists were just starting to be such a threat that the governments of other countries finally felt a requirement to oppose them. The Western powers let Hitler and the Nazis get away with everything they did until then: their annexation of Austria, their dismemberment and take over of Czechoslovakia, their annexation of the strategic port of Memel/Klaipda. In addition, they did nothing to counter the military aggression of Hitler's key allies: the right wing falangists in the Spanish Civil War, Italian leader Mussolini's invasions of Ethiopia and Albania, and Japan's invasion of China. What was their reasoning? Bigots don't do reasoning. Hitler felt some sort of divine mission. How do you argue with that?.------Is the economy as robust as all that when real wages haven't changed much since 1970?The Western World, the U.K. and America especially,in general has changed from an industrial manufacturing economy to a service financial sector economy, with this comes a lot more unskilled, semi skilled jobs which have low productivity and low wages. Of course at the other end of service economy there is well paid jobs but pay gap is wide. During the industrial era with more unionised workers, they were able to get a better share of the profits their respective firms made. Also the governments taxed companies and the rich more and this also helped with the redistribution of wealth. Now with corporate and individual taxes a lot lower than before the governments are running bigger deficits to maintain the same services they did previously. The low paid are doing the same, running up debts and working 2 jobs to try and survive. The privatisation of the utilities has reduced the wealth of the nation and has passed public wealth into the hands of the 0.1%------Who are the unlucky cricketers who were selected for the Indian team but did not play any match or played in only one or two matches? There are few very good names already mentioned.I would like to add two names here both are deserved to be in the national squad considering their first class career.First one, Abhinav mukund. He averages more than 50 in FC and considered as main stream and reliable player for TN. He along with Vijay has saved TN in many Ranji matches. He has got chance to represent for India in 5 tests so far with average of only 20. He was picked for WI and ENG tours but did not create significant impact. However, this guy is talented and can get his due.Second is Unmukt chand. Under 19 captain who made India to clinch title in 2012. While he has played only few FC matches, his selection as skipper and his performance in U19WC was a sweet surprise. Though he became widely famous and has got IPL chance, his best is yet to come. While most of U19 captains get decent sitting in national squad, this guy may also have his rounds------Why does Caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi command popularity in the Islamic Ummah?Al-Baghdadi is NOT generally popular in the Ummah. He and other terrorist leaders are popular among a relative few Muslims because those relative few Muslims sympathize with Baghdadis and other terrorist leaders views and goals and have no objection to committing atrocities and terrorist attacks in pursuit of those views and goals. We should not assume that al-Baghdadi was popular even among Iraqi Sunnis who became oppressed by the al-Maliki Shiite regime. Some dispossessed Iraqi Sunnis joined ISIS but most simply failed to fight against ISIS because they had no reason to be loyal to the Iraqi government. Others joined ISIS because they needed the paycheck and/or were terribly afraid of what ISIS might do to themselves and their families if they didnt. But, no, Al-Baghdadi was not popular except among the psychopathic few. So far it looks like Iraqi Sunnis who lived under ISIS and survived to be liberated are extremely glad to be rid of ISIS/Baghdadi------What are elementary particles made of?The very meaning of "elementary" or "fundamental" particles is that they are what everything is made up of. You cannot divide them further else they would not be fundamental particles. According to the "Standard Model" everything is made up of quarks, leptons and bosons. The standard model paints a very good picture of the universe we see around us, and is fairly very successful. As another answer has pointed out that there is another theory, i.e. String Theory basically states that everything in this universe is made up of immensely tiny rubber band like strings. These strings are made up of energy and they can vibrate in 11 dimensions. Different vibrations of these strings produce different kind of "things" just like a standing wave on a string. There is a fundamental frequency then there are other frequencies, which correspond to the different kind of things that occupy our universe. This has net been proved yet and experimentally we are unable to probe this deep, so it remains a theory for now
Interchangeable Lenses Allow for Differentiated Light Distribution in Architectural Lighting (MAGAZI
This article was published in the June 2011 issue of LEDs Magazine. View the Table of Contents and download the PDF file of the complete June 2011 issue. Discussions concerning the efficiency of LED lighting largely revolve around the high luminous efficacy of the semiconductor light sources. As a result, the potential of the light-guidance system is often pushed into the background. However, while the development of increasingly more efficient LEDs occupies the research laboratories of the major corporations in the electronics industry, the optimisation of LED technology gives luminaire manufacturers the chance to optimize their own lighting engineering and to provide users with definite advantages in terms of lighting quality, flexibility and economic efficiency. The optical systems for LED lighting products are very different from conventional luminaires with reflector technology. Because transmission with lenses is more efficient than reflection with reflectors, LED luminaires fitted with the appropriate lens systems deliver a better light output ratio. In architectural lighting, interchangeable Spherolit lenses offer the big advantage that differentiated light distributions can be obtained. Alternative lenses can be exchanged simply to suit altered lighting tasks with one and the same luminaire. As described in this article, lighting manufacturer Erco has developed Spherolit lenses for LED optical systems. Spherolit technology is based on dividing up a large lens surface into individual, three dimensionally domed facets that control the light using refraction. By individually shaping each "spherolite" facet, the characteristics of the lens can be extensively controlled. Depending on the curvature of each individual facet, the parallel incident light is dispersed to a greater or lesser extent. This results in different lenses that, for the same basic geometry, can have different beam angles ranging from "narrow spot" to "wide flood." Made of optical polymer, the lenses are extremely high precision components and place exacting demands on tool making and on manufacturing via the injection-molding process. The quality of an optical system has a major influence on the overall efficiency of an LED luminaire. The combination of an LED lens, collimator and Spherolit lens can provide a very high performance and flexible system in architectural lighting (Figs. 1 & 3). A collimator, made of an optical polymer and acting as a secondary lens, forms the link in the chain between the LED lens on the printed circuit board, as the primary lens, and the interchangeable Spherolit lenses as the tertiary lenses. The collimator aligns the light of the LED chip, with its hemispherical light distribution, into a parallel beam so that the required light distribution can then be formed by the replaceable tertiary lens. This approach offers the practical advantage that in situations where the use of the lighting is always changing, such as in exhibitions or in showrooms, the light distribution can be altered to suit the lighting task thanks to an interchangeable system. By exchanging the tertiary lens from one that gives a narrow beam for accent lighting to one with a wall-washer characteristic for vertical ambient lighting, it is an easy matter to modify the lighting concept and the atmosphere in the room. Clip-mounted Spherolit lenses allow both lighting professionals and ordinary users alike to alter the light distribution. The sensitive interface between the LED chip and the collimator can be precisely and cleanly fitted in the factory, while the easy exchangeability of the Spherolit lenses gives the user the benefit of adjustability in actual usage situations. Depending on the design of the collimator, the rays of light are formed into a parallel beam via total reflection at the edge surfaces or even in combination with a middle lens section. The advantage of collimators, which function solely by total internal reflection, lies in their high efficiency. In terms of production engineering, the normal injection-molding process is faced with the challenge of having to ensure that component thicknesses are as uniform as possible. This is to avoid what are known as sink marks, which occur as the component cools down, and could otherwise impair the guidance of the rays from the LED. In contrast to normally- used collimators, therefore, the middle lens section in this case is replaced by a Fresnel lens of reduced component thickness in order to simplify the injection molding process (Fig. 4). However, the very narrow-beam light distribution of LEDs presents a particular challenge. According to the law of conservation of geometrical optics, a relatively large emission surface is required for the very small luminous surface of the LED chips. To enable a normal injection molding process to be used for this collimator too, a special variant has been developed that uses double total internal reflection to allow a relatively uniform component thickness (Fig. 5). This principle also enables a more efficient light guidance for very narrow beam angles using readily obtainable systems with a combination of reflector and lens. Pins positioned on the collimator facilitate precise and fast installation on the PCB using screws or clips. The screwed-on attachment to the heat sink also forms a thermal connection, providing heat management for the LED chips. The actual light distribution, which may be narrow beam for accent lighting or wide beam for flood-type lighting for instance, is determined using Spherolit lenses as tertiary optical systems (Figs. 6a. & 6b.). Axially-symmetrical Spherolit geometries can produce oval beams, allowing elongated sculptures or tables to be illuminated with just one luminaire, whereas asymmetric Spherolit forms can be used for uniform wall-washing. The Spherolit geometries have been designed to give beams that are particularly uniform and without striations, while having clear, slightly softened edges. To help the user identify these lenses, which often look very similar, the edges of the Spherolit lenses are labelled with the name of their particular characteristic. Compared to systems that only use one collimator, this approach using collimators and tertiary lenses does produce losses due to reflections, albeit very low losses. However, this is far outweighed by the benefits in terms of increased flexibility in use. To obtain a different light distribution, it is not necessary to have another luminaire, but just to use a different Spherolit lens. Furthermore, the more complex optical systems such as "oval flood" or "wall wash" cannot be achieved using pure collimator technology. Conventional point-light sources such as low-voltage halogen lamps or high-pressure discharge lamps emit their light in a solid angle of virtually 360, whereas LEDs, which are directed by nature, emit their light in a solid angle of 1. At times it is a paved multi-use trail, an on-road route, a sidewalk, a protected bike lane or a riverfront promenade. Its surface is mostly asphalt, but at times concrete, brick or boardwalk is used.On the north end, the trail starts at the southern terminus of the Anacostia Tributary Trail System in Prince George's County just north of the New York Avenue/US-50 Bridge and follows the river south through Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens to the intersection of 40th St. NE and Anacostia Avenue, NE. It then travels over Watts Branch and through the Mayfair neighborhood on road to the intersection of Anacostia Drive, NE and Foote St. NE. There it enters the south portion of Kenilworth Park on an old park service access road where it connects to a multi-use trail between the river and the old PEPCO power plant. It follows this trail to Benning Road where the trail splits to both sides of the river. On the east side, the trail continues along the river through River Terrace Park, under East Capitol Street, over the railroad tracks and into the main part of Anacostia National Park. In ANP it travels all the way to Poplar Point between the river and Anacostia Drive, SE. At Popular Point it begins to run along the east side of South Capitol Street, connecting to both sides of the Douglass Bridge, before ending at Defense Boulevard and the gate to Joint Base Anacostia Bolling. On the west side, the trail travels along the river to Douglass Bridge and then across Southwest DC to the Washington Channel, where it turns north. South of Benning Road, it travels along the river on the east side of the RFK parking lots and Congressional Cemetery. It crosses over the railroad tracks, with a separate connection to Barney Circle, and then uses a sidewalk, sections of trail and Water Street, SE to traverse Boathouse Row. After crossing under the 11th Street Bridge, it connects, in order, to the Navy Yard Promenade, Yards Park and Diamond Teague Park. Someday it will connect from there to the Douglass Bridge and Buzzard Point before turning north, but for now, it detours on road on Potomac Avenue, First Street, SW and P Street, SW to Southwest Waterfront Park. From there it turns north along the Washington Channel using the trail in Southwest Waterfront Park, sidewalks and sidepaths along Maine Avenue and the trail in front of the Wharf to its terminus at Ohio Drive and the trails around the Tidal Basin. In the future, the trail will connect via two routes to the Capitol, via the South Capital Street Trail to Oxon Cove Park and via a new trail segment in Kenilworth Gardens and a bridge over the Anacostia to the National Arboretum. In 2018, it was branded as part of a larger Anacostia River Trail Network that included the Marvin Gaye Trail, the Suitland Parkway Trail and its extension, the proposed Shepherd's Branch Trail, the proposed Lincoln Connector Trail, the 11th Street Bridge Park, the Oxon Run Trail, and the Pennsylvania Avenue Trail.------VenuesBefore the Olympics of long track speed skatingNagano first attempted to host the Winter Olympics in 1940, but lost out to Sapporo. Those Olympics were abandoned in 1937 when Japan invaded China for the second time, forcing Sapporo's withdrawal. The city tried again for the Winter Olympics in 1968 in 1961, but lost out in domestic voting to Sapporo who in turn lost out to Grenoble, France in 1964. Sapporo would host the Winter Olympics finally in 1972. A third time for the Winter Olympics began in 1983 with a full bid for the Winter Games approved two years later. With the bid committee established in 1986 and lessons learned from previous mistakes, Nagano's bid for the Winter Olympics in Japan was approved in 1989. A revamped bid committee was launched later that year with presentations given to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1990. When the IOC session was in Tokyo in September 1990, Nagano was among the cities launching promotional campaign for the 1998 Winter Olympics. The following June at the IOC session in Birmingham, England, Nagano was awarded the 1998 Games in the fifth round, defeating Salt Lake City, Utah in the United States by four votes.Karuizawa, near Nagano, played host to the World Allround Speed Skating Championships in 1963 and the World Sprint Speed Skating Championships in 1986. For the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Karuizawa played host to the equestrian events.Site selection for events were adjusted between the time of bidding and the actual games. For the alpine skiing women's downhill, women's super-g, women's giant slalom, and men's giant slalom were moved from Mount Higashidate to Mount Yakebitai following a 1993 inspection by the International Ski Federation (FIS). Biathlon was planned to be at a new venue in the Kamishiro area of Habuka. The venue was moved to Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort following an environmental assessment of the area that included nests of goshawks and buzzards under CITES, the 1973 global endangered species act better known as the "Washington Convention", before construction began. Figure skating was planned originally for a municipally owned gymnasium in Nagano, but was abandoned to it not having enough room for expansion. Meanwhile, short track speed skating was planned to take place on renovated city property, but the venue's popularity with local residents changed that plan. As a result, White Ring Arena was constructed to accommodate both figure and short track speed skating. Alpine combined was set to have the downhill part at Happo'one Resort and the slalom part at Mount Yakebitai, but the logistical differences in adverse weather conditions forced the slalom part to be moved to Happo'one Resort.Venue construction started in 1990 and was completed prior to the 1998 Winter Games. Temporary facility construction started in June 1997 and was completed in time for the 1998 Games. For test events, M-Wave Arena in Nagano hosted the World Allround Speed Skating Championships in 1997. That same year, the Iizuna Kogen Ski Area hosted the FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships. The biggest test event controversy occurred at the Happo'one Resort for the men's downhill event in February 1996 when the FIS, supported by most of the leading skiers, stated that the 1.68km (1.04mi) was too short. The request by FIS and the skiers was to move the start of the course up either by 0.12km (0.075mi) or 15 seconds. The Nagano Organizing Committee (NAOC) refused to move the course on the grounds that it be moved into a protected national park Special Zone and that it would contradict one of NAOC's Vision of Coexistence with the environment. The FIS pointed out that over 600,000 skiers annually participated in that zone annually, and asked why Olympic-class skiers could not compete in that same area. A threat to not hold the event in Japan was also issued by the FIS. It would not be until 12 November 1997 before a compromise could be reached among the FIS, IOC, and NAOC where the start was moved up 0.085km (0.053mi) to its final length of 1.765km (1.097mi).
What Is the Magic Weapon for Winning the LED Display Terminal Market?
"Getting rid of users" has always been the "mantra" of many LED screen enterprises and dealers, but in fact, the current market has changed! This statement is also outdated. "Creating good products, differentiated products, and products with selling points to solve pain points!" is the magic weapon to win the current LED display terminal market! As industry insiders said: "some enterprises can't even get good products, but have to deal with users. What can they do with users? Cheap price? In this era, LED displays are always cheaper, not the cheapest...". From this perspective, the operation and development focus of LED screen enterprises must be good product development, definition and creation under the needs of users. This is not only the basis of commercial competition in the LED display industry in the new consumption era, but also the main means for manufacturers and dealers to participate in market competition.Earlier, due to the serious problems such as LED display product homogenization and price war, at the same time, under the influence of many factors such as no subsidies from the state and no policies in the industry, many manufacturers and LED display dealers had to adopt the rough competition mode of "fighting for low prices" to get users. However, the manufacturing industry needs innovation momentum and craftsmanship to produce good products to meet the needs of customers in order to develop healthily, especially in the LED display industry. The methods of "fighting for low prices" and "packaging selling points" will eventually be eliminated, and the real good products can stand the market test!In recent years, with the all-round improvement of product performance intelligence and price acceptance in the terminal market, as well as the accelerated elimination of inferior products, more and more head LED screen enterprises have found that the problem is serious and "can't continue to run naked", so they began to continuously transform and upgrade, leading the needs of users' products, Provide customized and differentiated products for different fields and different dealer groups.Despite the constraints of the large market environment and technology, there are still deficiencies in many market segments compared with the expected differentiation, but from the perspective of the overall development of the industry, compared with the previous move of "low price" to the end, there are differences in both product functions and enterprise development positioning. Of course, the profits of screen enterprises are also enriched, It also restored the confidence and motivation of many dealers. Therefore, generally speaking, it is unreasonable for enterprises to devote all their energy to users. The so-called operating users is now a false proposition. First, there is no system, second, there is no means, and third, there is no team. Talk about how users can listen? No matter when, LED display enterprises should still grasp one point: it is important to embrace users, but don't think to deal with users simply from the perspective of the market. Instead, they should firmly focus on the needs of users and manufacture good products they need, or even better products than expected.
